Conservators-restorers

To obtain the professional title of conservator-restorer, the following is a requirement:
  • completed conservation-restoration studies and one year of work in a narrow specialty
  • or another appropriate university graduate study or university integrated undergraduate and graduate study or professional graduate study or an equivalent study, two years of work in a narrow specialty
  • passed the professional exam for conservator-restorer.
 
The procedure for determining whether a foreign professional qualification meets the prescribed requirements for the professional title of conservator-restorer is carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Media.
 
Exceptionally, for the title of conservator-restorer for which there is a conservation-restoration study in narrow specialties, the requirement is a completed conservation-restoration study and one year of work in that narrow specialty.
 
For narrower specialties acquired through conservation and restoration studies, the title is acquired by passing part A of the professional examination program, which is contained in Annex 1 of the Regulations on professional titles for performing work on the protection and preservation of cultural property and the conditions and manner of their acquisition, based on the attached documentation on the work performed over a period of one year.
 
For applicants with a completed conservation and restoration study who have gained work experience in a related narrower specialty in relation to the specialty acquired at the level of education of the Croatian Qualifications Framework 7.1. st. or 7.1. st., the title of conservator-restorer is acquired by passing the professional examination program, parts A. and B.2. of the narrower specialty in which they have gained work experience, based on the attached documentation on the work performed over a period of one year.

Authorization
 
The certificate of passing the professional exam and acquiring the title of conservator-restorer is issued by the Ministry of Culture and Media
 
Deadline for obtaining: 15 days from the date of receipt of the minutes which establishes that the applicant has passed the professional exam
 
Legal remedies
 
In the event of failure to issue a certificate within 15 days, an appeal may be filed with the Ministry of Culture and Media by the applicant who has passed the professional exam and obtained the title of conservator-restorer.
